Amrit (Ami) Bagia joined ASPI as a senior fellow in November 2023, after leaving her position on the Biden-Harris Administration’s National Security Council.
Ami served for two years at the NSC as the Director for Countering Foreign Malign Influence and Information Integrity within the Democracy and Human Rights Directorate.
Prior to her time at the White House, Ami spent her career serving in various positions within the U.S. Intelligence Community, including as a Senior Director under the National Intelligence Manager for Near East at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), where she helped lead the integration of the Intelligence Community’s efforts on Near East issues.
She also held positions as the senior intelligence advisor and executive assistant to the Director of National Intelligence, the Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and as Speechwriter for the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. Prior to joining ODNI, Ami worked at both the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency.
Ami holds a Masters from Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program and a Bachelor’s from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
