Biography

Dr Andrew Charlton is an economist, business owner and former senior economic advisor. Prior to entering Parliament, Andrew completed a PhD in economics from Oxford University and went on to work at the London School of Economics.

He worked as an advisor to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd during the global financial crisis. Andrew was appointed Australia’s senior official to the G20 Leaders Summits.

He founded analytics business, AlphaBeta, which was sold to Accenture in 2020 where he was managing director until entering Parliament in 2022. In 2024 he was appointed as Special Envoy for Cyber Security and Digital Resilience.
