Hanna is a member of the Ukrainian Feminist Network for Freedom and Democracy and an expert on women, peace and security. 

She is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the University of Melbourne, Australia, with her research focusing on UNSCR 1325, feminist and women's rights activism in Ukraine, and feminist perspectives on security.
