Biography

Liesl has had a 27-year career spanning diplomatic service, national security, multi-lateral organisations and the private sector. Liesl’s career has been marked by international postings, including with the United Nations Development Program in New Delhi and with the Australian High Commission, London.

More recently Liesl’s work in the private sector at the intersection of technology and national security, has focused on supporting innovation, scaling businesses, and bridging market gaps in the emerging tech ecosystem.

Liesl is known for her strategic acumen, collaborative spirit, and dedication to driving impactful outcomes. Her professional background demonstrates a nuanced understanding of contemporary security dynamics, particularly in relation to Australia's strategic interests. Her career reflects her passion for creating safer, more interconnected global communities and her ability to lead with vision and purpose.

Liesl holds Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Law.  She serves on the board of the National Spy Museum Australia.
