Biography

Marika Vigo is the Events and Communications Manager of ASPI’s Washington, DC office. A results-driven digital communicator, stakeholder engager, and organizing strategist, Marika joins the team with a background in American politics.

At her core, Marika is an idealist who wants to make a difference in the world, engaged by learning, energized by creating, and fulfilled by connecting (with others).

Her career has taken her all around the United States. Previously, she was the Digital Organizing Strategist for JB for Governor in Illinois, where she developed the voter contact and field organizing program, cultivated relationships with stakeholders, produced digital communications, and managed public outreach.

During the 2020 election cycle, in her role as Digital Associate, she delivered the Biden for President ticket a win in Pennsylvania—and therefore, the presidency—by building the statewide texting program, managing and training volunteers, and creating engaging content across digital channels. Prior to that, she worked as a Field Organizer for Kamala Harris’s primary campaign in South Carolina.

She has experience consulting in political, real estate, and communications capacities. Her background also includes positions with the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the Federal Trade Commission, and the California Department of Justice.

Marika has a Bachelor of Economics with a minor in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar and recipient of the Cal Alumni Association Leadership Award.
