Olivia Nelson is Assistant Director of Executive and Strategy.

Part of ASPI’s Executive, Strategy and Research team, Olivia works as a senior executive officer to the Executive Director and works across ASPI on strategy and delivery of organisational priorities and stakeholder engagement. Olivia also produces ASPI’s podcast and leads on ASPI’s Women in Defence and Security Network (WDSN).

Previously, she was Assistant Director of Events and Communications and led on ASPI’s events, podcasts and communications.

Prior to joining ASPI in 2020, she worked at the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and at the UK think tank Chatham House from 2017-2019 in the Asia-Pacific Programme and International Law Programme where her roles focused on events, project management and communications.

Olivia has a Bachelor of International Studies and a Master of Human Rights Law & Policy from the University of New South Wales.
