Biography
Saba is a lecturer in agriculture at CQUniversity, Australia. His teaching and research includes animal and human health, international agricultural development, disaster resilience in agricultural systems, agriculture in strategic and foreign policy, and agricultural education and extension.
Saba’s work with ASPI’s Northern Australia Strategic Policy Centre has examined the role of agriculture in advancing prosperity and security across northern Australia and the region’s role in fostering a more secure world. This work includes authoring an ASPI Strategy Report ‘Deep roots’: agriculture, national security and nation-building in northern Australia.
Prior to his academic career, Saba worked with government departments and not-for profit community organisations in agricultural research and science education in rural and regional northern Australia. Saba holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons I) from The University of Queensland and a Master of International Public Health from The University of Sydney. He is currently undertaking a PhD with CQUniversity on post-disaster “building back better” among primary producers.
